Urban sustainability refers to neighborhood scale and larger built environment systems which are planned, design and managed to support sustainability. Gauge has developed a range of tools and resources related to urban sustainability. These are:

  • Blog: This provides posts on urban sustainability and the tools and projects being carried out by Gauge on urban sustainability.
  • Built Environment Sustainability Tool: The Building Environment Sustainability Tool (BEST) has been developed  to enable the sustainability assessment of urban environments. The tool and methodology enable both rural settlements and urban environments to be assessed in terms of their capability to support sustainability. It identifies critical gaps which can be used to inform the development of responsive strategies to address and integrate sustainability into local urban infrastructure.
  • Tools and resources: Tools and resources related to urban sustainability developed by Gauge can be provide through access to subscription based portals.
