The Sustainable Building Assessment Tool (SBAT) Residential 1.04 has been developed. This supports an integrated and responsive approach to achieving high sustainability performance in housing. The tool is based on a holistic approach to addressing sustainability and includes social, economic and environmental criteria. It is easy and cost-effective to use and is particularly relevant to developing country contexts. The tool has been used in Zambia. More information on the tool is available here.

SBAT Residential Design 1.03 Tool and Manual
The Sustainable Building Assessment Tool (SBAT) Residential supports the development of sustainable residential built environments. SBAT Residential consists of a tool which is an Excel-based tool. Target setting and assessments are completed by opening the tool and accessing worksheets via tags at the bottom of the page. Assessments require good access to data about the building and the location. Measurements and data used in the SBAT must be accurate for assessments to be useful and capable of validation.
